The Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan, participated in a dialogue meeting organized by the Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, in cooperation with Sawt Ajloun Community Radio, and with the participation of youth from the “Rural Youth Political Safe Space.” The meeting was held as part of efforts to strengthen dialogue with young people on national issues and youth policy priorities. The event was attended by the Director of the Policy, Planning, and Studies Directorate at the Ministry of Youth, Jihad Masaadeh, and the Executive Director of the Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, Sufian Rبابعة. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Adwan emphasized the importance of involving young people in all tracks of national modernization, noting that political modernization represents a core pillar of Jordan’s national vision. He stressed that enhancing youth participation in public life and decision-making is a national priority, affirming that Jordan is advancing comprehensive development pathways that enable young people to actively contribute to development and shaping the future as genuine partners in nation-building. Masaadeh reviewed the Ministry of Youth’s efforts to translate the Royal vision related to political, economic, and administrative modernization tracks, stressing that youth are a central focus of the national modernization process. He added that the Ministry is working to convert royal directives into practical programs, initiatives, and projects that empower youth and enhance their role across various fields. He further emphasized that the youth file is no longer the responsibility of a single institution, but has become a national priority, receiving direct attention from various state institutions and their partners, based on the belief that investing in youth is an investment in Jordan’s future, stability, and prosperity.

He noted that the Ministry of Youth is currently leading an unprecedented level of national coordination with government ministries, official and civil society institutions, the private sector, and international partners, aiming to unify efforts and integrate roles to advance the youth sector and provide quality opportunities that enable young people to actively participate in development and modernization processes. He explained that the Ministry continues to develop youth centers across the Kingdom through sustainable programs focused on building skills and leadership and life competencies, and promoting a culture of participation, active citizenship, volunteerism, innovation, entrepreneurship, arts, and culture. He also highlighted the sports empowerment track, which includes specialized programs in football, taekwondo, karate, boxing, chess, and e-sports, aiming to broaden sports participation, discover young talents, and nurture them. Dr. Al-Adwan further emphasized that the Ministry is currently working in direct partnership with young people to develop the National Youth Strategy for 2026–2030, following a participatory approach that places youth at the center of planning and policymaking processes, ensuring that the strategy reflects their needs, aspirations, and real priorities. He explained that young people themselves are leading national consultation sessions held across the Kingdom’s governorates, and are actively involved in facilitating dialogues, discussions, and drafting recommendations and proposals, thereby strengthening their role as genuine partners in shaping the future of youth policies and programs. He added that the National Youth Strategy is being built on the outcomes of the national youth survey, national dialogues, and the views of young men and women from various governorates, ensuring the formulation of more responsive policies and programs that are capable of creating a positive and sustainable impact on their lives and communities.

The Executive Director of the Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development and Sawt Ajloun Community Radio, Mr. suhaib Ahmad Rababah, emphasized that the meeting reflects the importance of partnership between state institutions and young people in shaping national policies and programs. He noted that it also demonstrates the growing direction toward genuinely involving youth in decision-making processes. He added that the development of the National Youth Strategy (2026–2030) represents a significant opportunity to ensure fair and inclusive participation of young people from all governorates, particularly those in rural communities who face additional challenges related to opportunities, representation, and access to services and development programs. Rababah stated that both the Center and the Radio believe that achieving fairness in youth policies requires listening to the voices of young people in rural and less-privileged areas, involving them in setting priorities and formulating solutions, in a way that ensures the national strategy reflects their needs and aspirations in a balanced manner. He further affirmed that the “Rural Youth Political Safe Space” serves as a practical model for constructive dialogue between youth and decision-makers, contributing to strengthening youth civic and political participation and empowering them to play an active role as partners in national modernization and development processes. The meeting also featured an open discussion with participants, addressing key issues and challenges facing young people, as well as the opportunities available for their participation in public life. The dialogue underscored the importance of expanding youth engagement in the coming phase, listening to their ideas, and enabling them to actively contribute to comprehensive and sustainable development.

In conclusion, participants commended the Ministry of Youth’s efforts in promoting a participatory approach and engaging young people in decision-making processes. They emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue and coordination between national institutions and youth, in a way that contributes to achieving their aspirations and strengthening their role in the comprehensive national development process. They also presented a set of recommendations aimed at improving national and local policies related to the inclusion of young people in political life and the preparation of young leaders, in line with the national political modernization tracks. It is worth noting that the “Rural Youth Safe Space” project is implemented by the Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development in partnership with Sawt Ajloun Community Radio and in cooperation with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. The project aims to provide a sustainable youth space to enhance civic participation among young people in rural areas.
