A dialogue session in Ajloun discusses the challenges and sustainability of women’s entrepreneurial projects in rural communities.
Ajloun – Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development , in cooperation with the Ajloun Women’s Charitable Society and the Solidarity Institute, organized a second dialogue session within the “Knafeh and a Story” initiative. Titled “Challenges of Growth and Sustainability for Emerging Economic Projects Led by Women in Rural Communities,” the session was held at the Ajloun Municipality Hall (Local Development Unit). The session aimed to discuss ways to support women’s entrepreneurship and enhance their ability to develop sustainable projects that contribute to improving the economic and social conditions in rural communities.
The Executive Director of the Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development , Suhaib Ahmad Rababa’a, who presented and moderated the discussion, emphasized the importance of opening in-depth discussions about the reality of women’s projects, especially in rural areas, which face compounded challenges related to financing, marketing, and the ability to expand, in addition to limited access to resources and technical support. Rababa’a explained that empowering women economically is not merely a development step, but rather an investment in building a more stable and prosperous society, noting the necessity of providing a supportive environment that encourages women to launch and sustain their projects.
The session addressed the most significant obstacles facing women entrepreneurs, such as weak marketing networks, high production costs, and a lack of specialized training opportunities, in addition to the challenges associated with competition in local and international markets. It also discussed ways to enhance the sustainability of projects through innovation, sound planning, and building economic and community partnerships capable of supporting continuous development.
The attendees shared a range of real-life experiences in which they faced difficulties in launching or sustaining their projects, and exchanged experiences on mechanisms for overcoming obstacles and finding practical solutions for expansion and achieving better economic returns.
This session is part of a series of events aimed at promoting women’s economic empowerment, building their entrepreneurial capabilities, and providing a space for dialogue and exchange of experiences, thereby enhancing women’s role in the development of rural communities and contributing to creating a more inclusive and sustainable economic environment for all.
