A dialogue session was held at Ajloun National University to promote a culture of safe technology use and to address gender-based digital violence.

Ajloun –  Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development , in cooperation with the Ajloun Women’s Charitable Society, the Solidarity Institute and Ajloun National University, is organizing a dialogue session as part of the “Knafeh and a Story” initiative. The session aims to promote a culture of digital protection among women and youth, and to support community awareness efforts within the framework of the “United to Confront Violence” project.

During a dialogue facilitated by the Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development , Executive Director Suhaib Ahmad Rababa’a emphasized the importance of digital protection and combating online violence. He reviewed the methods of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, including reporting mechanisms, protection, and prevention of online fraud and extortion targeting young women and girls. He stressed the need to be vigilant against exploitation and entrapment attempts, emphasizing the importance of using reporting tools as a first step towards protection. He affirmed that prevention and knowledge are the cornerstones of protection in the digital space.

During the session, students shared personal stories and experiences of fraud attempts, exposure to suspicious messages and links, and situations involving online extortion and harassment. They discussed how they dealt with these attempts to learn from them and avoid similar situations in the future.

Ajloun National University, through its Public Relations Department, underscores the importance of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the digital world and promoting awareness of the safe use of technology. This plays a crucial role in protecting members of society, especially youth and women, from online risks. The university emphasizes that its mission extends beyond academic knowledge to include building well-rounded, conscious individuals capable of responsibly engaging with the digital world and making technology a supportive tool for daily life.
