A Discussion Session Between the Parliamentary Education Committee and Youth Leaders at “Reef Space” in Ajloun
Ajloun – The Change Makers Center for Sustainable Development, in partnership with Sawt Ajloun Community Radio and in cooperation with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (Germany), is organizing a dialogue session that brings together the Parliamentary Education Committee and the young leaders who are members of the “Safe Rural Youth Political Space” project. The session will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
This session comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance political and civic engagement among youth in rural areas and to establish sustainable channels of communication between decision-makers and young people. It aims to empower youth to express their views and present practical recommendations that reflect the needs of their communities, particularly in the education sector.
The session will discuss the youth’s recommendations outlined in a specialized policy paper prepared by the young leaders of the “Safe Rural Youth Political Space.” This paper is the result of assessing the educational needs of rural communities and identifying actionable reforms that contribute to improving the quality of education and promoting equity in the distribution of educational opportunities.
Program and Operations Specialist Riham Al-Qudah stated that this session “represents a practical step toward empowering rural youth to move from identifying challenges to formulating innovative and realistic solutions, grounded in their daily experiences with educational issues in their communities. This makes their recommendations more relevant and closely aligned with actual needs.”
Al-Qudah emphasized that direct dialogue between Parliament and youth reinforces the principle of participatory policymaking and provides young people with a structured and institutionalized platform to voice their perspectives and visions.
