Interactive Political Dialogue on Labor Policies, National Employment, and Local Priorities in Rural Communities
Ajloun – As part of the Change Makers Center for Sustainable Development’s efforts to enhance political and civic participation among youth in rural areas, a political dialogue is set to take place between young people and members of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor, Social Development, and Population. This event, organized in cooperation with Sawt Ajloun Community Radio and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (Germany), will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, as part of the activities of the “Safe Rural Youth Political Space” project.
The aim is to provide a sustainable dialogue platform between youth and policymakers that empowers young rural leaders to express their views, shape influential visions, and offer recommendations to improve public policies aligned with national and local priorities in employment and labor.
In this context, the dialogue session will discuss the youth’s recommendations presented in a specialized policy paper on the labor and employment sector. The young participants prepared this policy paper after conducting a thorough assessment of the needs of rural communities and identifying practical reforms that contribute to improving job opportunities and employment, while promoting fairness in the distribution of development services.
The importance of this session lies in its role as a direct communication channel between decision-makers and rural youth, strengthening the principle of participation and collaboration in policymaking. It provides young people with an institutional and organized platform to voice their concerns and aspirations. The experience also demonstrates the ability of young leaders to move beyond merely identifying challenges to formulating innovative and practical solutions based on their daily lived experiences with the issues facing their communities, making their recommendations more relevant and closely aligned with actual needs.
This session represents a significant step toward establishing a new model of national partnership based on mutual listening, mutual trust, and collaborative work between the Parliament and youth. This model, in turn, reinforces the concept of just sustainable development and affirms that young people are not merely recipients of policies but active partners in shaping them and building the future of their country.
