Jordan’s 79th Independence: Renewed Glory and an Unbreakable Will
By: Ahmed Abdul Qader Al-Rubba’ah
In a moment where feelings blend between pride and belonging, between remembrance and hope, we stand today to celebrate the 79th Independence Day of our Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Seventy-nine years of dignity and sovereignty, of honor and resilience, since the dawn of freedom broke over the sacred soil of this homeland, and the kingdom’s flag rose high in the sky of glory, bearing in its colors the story of a nation written by Jordanians with sacrifices, determination, and deep faith.
On this great day, we remember the sacrifices of the founding fathers who laid the first stones for building this entity. We recall the determination of the Hashemites who bore the responsibility of leadership with wisdom and accountability, and the steadfastness of the Jordanians who faced challenges with patience and hope, forging from stone a school of patriotism and honor.
As a son of this homeland and a young man raised on love for Jordan and loyalty to its leadership, I believe that independence is not merely a date we celebrate, but a daily and renewed act. It is embodied in every initiative we launch for positive change, and in every stance where we uphold the values of justice, participation, and social solidarity.
Independence, at its core, means being faithful to our responsibilities, raising the flag of the nation high in fields of work, knowledge, and community struggle, and protecting its achievements while preserving its identity.
I had the honor of being awarded the Silver Jubilee Medal by His Majesty King Abdullah II during his gracious visit to Ajloun Governorate on the first of October last year. This medal was not only a personal honor but also a mandate and a message to every young man and woman that Jordan relies on the efforts of its sons and daughters, and that excellence in serving the homeland is the path for all who believe in its values and mission.
On this beloved national occasion, I extend my highest congratulations and blessings to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, to His Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, and to every Jordanian man and woman who cherish the soil of this homeland and believe in its everlasting mission.
Wishing Jordan well every year; may our independence be renewed each year with determination, strength, and unity.
