🌿 Rahaf Abu Mayaleh: From Health Awareness to Interactive Social Entrepreneurship
🌍 In the heart of East Amman, where economic challenges intersect with a lack of health awareness among children and families, Rahaf Abu Mayaleh emerged as a model of a young woman with a clear developmental vision: to promote health education among children in an innovative and interactive way. This vision was not merely a personal ambition, but a community-driven project rooted in the belief that change begins in childhood—and that health education can be a powerful tool for building more aware and confident generations.
🚀 The Launch: An Idea That Responds to a Real Need
Rahaf launched her idea through the project “Health for Education”—an interactive educational platform aimed at instilling healthy habits in children using simplified techniques, educational games, and visual content that speaks the child’s language.
The platform also sought to empower parents and teachers to become active partners in shaping these healthy behaviors, addressing a significant gap in interactive educational tools tailored to younger age groups.
⚠️ The Challenge: A Gap in Resources and Institutional Knowledge
⚠️ Despite the clarity of her idea, Rahaf initially faced a set of structural challenges, most notably:
- 💡 Limited Technical and Financial Resources for Platform Development
- 📉 Limited Experience in Managing Startups
- 🧭 Lack of Training or Mentorship Framework to Support the Transition from Idea to Professional Implementation
🧩 She needed a guiding framework, targeted funding, and the development of administrative and technical capacities to overcome this foundational stage.
🔄 Turning Point: A Partnership with an EU-Funded Project
The strategic shift came when Rahaf joined the project “Enhancing Women’s Economic Participation in Jordan,” implemented by the Change Makers Center for Sustainable Development in partnership with Tamkeen for Legal Aid and Human Rights and the Euro-Mediterranean Feminist Initiative, with direct support from the European Union
🌟 This project offered Rahaf a unique opportunity to combine in-kind support, intensive training, and professional networking. Through it, she received a development grant in the form of in-kind resources to enhance her platform, along with specialized training that included:
- 📊 Business Model Development
- 📈 Economic and Social Feasibility Analysis of the Project
- 📣 Developing a Targeted Digital Marketing Strategy
- 🎨 Visual Identity Design and Interactive Content Creation
- 🛠️ Time, Resource, and Institutional Risk Management
- 🤝 Networking Skills and Building Institutional Partnerships
🏛️ Institutional Empowerment: From a Budding Idea to a Platform with Impact
🌱 Thanks to this support, “Health for Education” evolved into an effective community platform. Its content was adopted by several schools and began to be used in complementary educational activities both inside and outside the classroom. The project also contributed to building a network of local partnerships with educational and health institutions, which strengthened the initiative’s sustainability and long-term impact.
🌍 Social Impact and Personal Transformation
🌟 Rahaf succeeded in transforming her platform from an individual initiative into a scalable model for school-based health awareness. Her experience has become a source of inspiration for many young women in her community, who have begun pursuing their own projects—drawing from Rahaf’s example of blending a social mission with institutional entrepreneurship.
📌 Strategic Message
🌟 Rahaf Abu Mayaleh’s experience affirms that women’s economic and social empowerment goes far beyond funding alone. It requires a holistic path that includes mentorship, skill-building, and smart partnerships. Today, she continues to develop her platform, driven by a deep belief that health education should not be traditional—it should be fun, impactful, and capable of reshaping the awareness of future generations.
