🍎 Fatima Dawood – From Pomegranate Harvest to the Fruit of Success
🍎 In one of Irbid’s rural villages, where autumn is draped in the colors of pomegranates, Fatima Dawood began her journey with a fruit many considered seasonal and fleeting. But she saw something different in the pomegranate—a chance for life, empowerment, and sustainability
🌟 It all began with a small idea and a passion for experimentation, until the moment that completely transformed the course of her project: her enrollment in the initiative “Towards Enhancing Women’s Economic Participation in Jordan”, implemented by the Change Makers Center for Sustainable Development, in an executive partnership with Tamkeen Legal Aid and the EuroMed Feminist Initiative, and supported by the European Union.
🌱 Through this project, Fatima participated in a series of specialized training programs that reshaped her perspective on entrepreneurship and provided her with practical tools that transformed her idea from a creative concept into a successful and sustainable economic model.
🛡️ Risk Management: Fatima learned how to plan her project beyond the pomegranate season. She shifted from relying solely on pomegranates as a raw material to developing a variety of products such as vinegar, pomegranate molasses, and natural cosmetics. In doing so, she created productive sustainability and a year-round source of income.
📜 Legal and Regulatory Organization: Before the training, the steps for official registration were unclear; but today, Fatima’s project is registered and licensed, operating within a legal framework that builds trust and lays the foundation for long-term growth.
🎨 Brand Identity and Development: Through design and marketing workshops, Fatima came to understand the importance of presenting her project’s story as an integral part of the product. As a result, her products now carry a name, identity, and logo that reflect the values of sustainability, innovation, and empowered rural women.
📊 Monitoring and Evaluation Skills: Fatima acquired tools for performance measurement, quality control, and data-driven planning, which made her more capable of increasing profits and continuously improving her product.
🌿 Today, Fatima’s project is no longer just a personal experiment or a traditional craft—it has become an economic, environmental, and human message. Through it, Fatima embodies the true meaning of women’s rural entrepreneurship, where sustainability meets empowerment, creativity meets income, and work meets dignity.
🌱 Fatima Dawood didn’t create an opportunity out of thin air—she drew life from every fruit that was nearly discarded, proving that change begins when we believe that within us lie seeds that need only a little care… to blossom into success
