🎙️ Success Story | Sansebeel Bani Salman: I Transformed Data into a Community Voice that Drives Change

🌟 I am Sansebeel Bani Salman, a young activist from Ajloun Governorate. I have found in community work and field research both a passion and a mission—and in the voice of the citizen, a true instrument for influence and decision-making.

 

🌟 My journey began through my participation in the “Voices for Democracy” project, implemented by the Change Makers Center for Sustainable Development in partnership with Sawt Ajloun Community Radio. Through this initiative, I learned how to transform data and information into an effective force for change—one that reflects the pulse of the street and helps bridge the gap between citizens and local councils.

 

📊 Field Research… When a Survey Becomes a Heard Voice

 

🌟 I joined the Youth Leaders Team in the project, dedicating my expertise to using data collection tools like KoBoToolbox. I designed and conducted a field survey to measure citizens’ satisfaction with municipal council services in Ajloun. I spoke directly with people in the field, listened to their needs, gathered their responses, and then systematically analyzed the results and presented them in official sessions with the municipalities.

 

🗣️ What I presented wasn’t just numbers—it was a true voice reflecting people’s priorities. Some of the recommendations that emerged from this data received genuine attention from the municipalities and were adopted into service improvement plans, especially in areas such as water, public sanitation, and infrastructure.

 

🎯 Empowerment Skills… A Gateway to Influence

 

🌱 During my experience in the project, I acquired a set of specialized skills, including

📻 I also participated in media and radio sessions to highlight the research findings, which helped strengthen community dialogue and create spaces for people to express their issues from within their own communities.

 

🌍 A Community Platform for a Genuine Voice

 

🗳️ My experience in the “Voices for Democracy” project taught me that participation isn’t limited to voting—it also means gathering information, analyzing it, and speaking on behalf of those whose voices often go unheard. I transformed from a field researcher into a spokesperson for the local community, using every tool I learned to deliver the message with integrity and professionalism.

🌟 I am proud to have been part of this youth team, and I will continue my journey to be the eyes, ears, and voice of the citizen in every space of dialogue or decision-making—because I believe that every number in a survey and every note on a paper can be the starting point for real change.
