🎨 Rita Al-Dawood: Through Art and Resin… She Creates Impact and Strengthens Identity
🌸 In Ajloun Governorate, where the beauty of nature meets economic challenges, Rita Al-Dawood chose to carve her own path—transforming her passion for art into a social production project marked by creative flair and a message of community empowerment.
🎨 From the very beginning, Rita understood that art is not just a means of self-expression—it can also be a tool for change. She chose to work with resin art and recycled accessories, a field that blends aesthetic sensibility with sustainability, breathing new life into simple or discarded materials.
⚡ Challenges: When Passion Collides with Reality
⚠️ Despite her enthusiasm and creativity, Rita faced several challenges at the start of her project:
- 🛠️ Lack of Equipment and Technical Tools
- 🎓 Lack of Specialized Professional Training
- 🌐 Difficulty Accessing Markets and Effective Digital Marketing
- 🚫 Limited Economic Opportunities for Women in Her Local Environment
🤝 She needed support that went beyond funding—support that would strengthen her capabilities, expand her network, and provide her with the professional tools to grow her project and ensure its sustainability.
🔄 The Transformation: From Individual Passion to a Community Project with Institutional Support
🌟 The main turning point came when Rita joined the project “Towards Stronger Economic Participation of Women in Jordan,” implemented under a service contract by the Change Makers Center for Sustainable Development, in partnership with Tamkeen for Legal Aid and Human Rights and the EuroMed Feminist Initiative, with support from the European Union.
🌟 As part of this project, Rita received a development grant aimed at supporting women-led community-based entrepreneurial initiatives.
💡 The grant was not merely financial support for purchasing resin equipment—it marked the beginning of building a professional career grounded in strong foundations, which included:
- 🛍️ Funding for the Purchase of Specialized Professional Tools and Equipment for Resin Art
- 📚 Advanced Training in Small Business Management and Digital Marketing
- 🤝 Professional Mentorship and Networking with Supportive and Community-Based Entities
- Developing an Economic and Social Sustainability Plan for the Project
🎨 Impact: Art as a Tool for Empowerment
🌟 Thanks to this support, Rita’s project expanded from individual production into a platform for training and community empowerment. She began organizing workshops to teach resin art and recycling, targeting women and girls in her area—especially those not currently employed—to equip them with practical skills that could help them enter the job market or start home-based businesses.
🌱 Today, Rita’s project contributes to:
- 💼 Creating New Economic Opportunities for Women in Ajloun
- ♻️ Promoting a Culture of Environmental Sustainability Through Recycling
- ✨ Inspiring Initiative and Creativity Among Girls in Marginalized Areas
- 💪 Boosting Self-Confidence and the Belief in One’s Ability to Create Personal and Societal Change
📢 The Message: Strategic Support That Transforms an Idea into Impact
🌟 Rita believes that her project would not have come to life in its current form without the comprehensive support she received through the Change Makers Center and its partners, as part of the “Towards Stronger Economic Participation of Women in Jordan” initiative. This project helped her transition from a home-based artist to a community entrepreneur creating tangible change.
🎨 “Art is not just for display, but for empowerment. Every piece I create is a message that beauty can be born from simplicity, and that any woman is capable of building her future—if she finds a supportive environment.”
📝 In Conclusion: A Story That Goes Beyond Individual Success
🌾 Rita Al-Dawood’s story is a model for women’s empowerment in rural Jordan—a story that proves how investing in small ideas, when paired with guidance and smart partnerships, can lead to wide-reaching economic and social transformations.
