Amal Al-Qawasmeh is a prominent woman in Ajloun Governorate, having successfully combined a developmental vision with a strong commitment to community service. She has spearheaded a practical approach aimed at improving the lives of rural women and enhancing their economic and social capabilities. From the outset of her career, Amal has championed a clear vision: supporting and empowering women as a fundamental element of sustainable local development.

Amal served as the head of the Jordanian Women’s Union – Ajloun branch, a position that enabled her to lead extensive initiatives targeting women across the governorate. Through this role, she worked to unify efforts among women’s associations and strengthen networking, helping to create a supportive environment for women and empowering small home-based businesses and impactful community initiatives.

She also led the Abein Women’s Charitable Association, opening new horizons for women through training and production programs that contributed to creating employment opportunities and improving the economic situation of rural families. Under her leadership, the association adopted an approach based on promoting self-reliance, developing skills, and creating income-generating projects that align with the community’s resources and needs.

Amal’s achievements extended beyond simply implementing projects; she built a comprehensive empowerment system based on networking, partnerships, and community innovation. She focused on enhancing women’s capabilities in marketing, management, food production, and handicrafts, integrating them into local value chains. She also helped associations access funding and support, enabling them to implement sustainable development initiatives with a tangible impact on the local community.

Her efforts have yielded numerous success stories of women who have transformed their skills into stable sources of income and developed home-based businesses that have become models of rural economic empowerment. Amal has also succeeded in creating a trusting and supportive work environment, which has strengthened women’s presence in development initiatives and increased their participation in public life.

Today, Amal Al-Qawasmeh is a symbol of women’s developmental leadership in Ajloun, a model of a woman who believed that change begins with human development and that empowering women is a fundamental step towards developing rural communities and achieving comprehensive local development. She has left a profound mark on the social fabric of Ajloun, establishing the values of institutional work, initiative, and sustainable empowerment.
