Fatima Al-Qudah… an ambition that knows no bounds
Fatima Al-Qudah, a woman who believed that ambition knows no bounds and that determination can turn the impossible into reality. From the beginning of her education, she chose the path of knowledge as a bridge to a different future, pursuing her studies until she obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration, despite family responsibilities and life’s challenges, affirming that sincere will is enough to make all the difference.
This determination was quickly reflected in her career, as Fatima ventured into economic entrepreneurship and established her own projects, which formed a sustainable source of income for her and her family. She became an example of the ability of rural women to lead successful projects that enhance their economic independence and pave the way for others to move towards empowerment.
Not content with this success, Fatima realized that a broader impact required entering the public sphere. With the support and trust of her local community, she ran for municipal elections and won the presidency of the Rawabi Local Council with the highest number of votes, becoming one of the first women to hold this leadership position in Ajloun. This position allowed her a deeper understanding of people’s needs and enabled her to develop initiatives that addressed the region’s priorities, particularly in infrastructure and the empowerment of youth and women.
Her involvement in the Rural Women’s Forum strengthened her presence in the national women’s leadership sphere. The forum provided her with valuable opportunities to network and exchange experiences with female leaders from various governorates, enabling her to develop her political and social vision in a way that serves the role of rural women in decision-making.
The Center for Change Agents for Sustainable Development also played a pivotal role in supporting Fatima as a leading woman at both the municipal and parliamentary levels. Fatima participated in advanced programs implemented by the center, aimed at enhancing women’s capabilities in political leadership, election campaign management, public policy analysis, and the art of dialogue and negotiation. These programs contributed to strengthening her readiness for political work and provided her with practical tools to play a more influential role in society, whether in the municipal council or in her participation in public issues related to legislation and local governance.
Continuing her leadership journey, Fatima was elected Secretary of the Ajloun branch of the Social Democratic Party, adding a new political dimension to her career and reflecting her maturity and deep understanding of public affairs. Fatima has become one of the prominent women in Ajloun Governorate, combining economic leadership with municipal work and cultural and political activism.
Alongside her political presence, her cultural and social role was clearly prominent. She was a member of the Ajloun Writers’ Association and launched the “Young Creators Club” initiative in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture to enhance children’s writing and creative skills. She also actively participated in the Alwan Cultural Forum, contributing to the organization of diverse cultural activities, and represented Jordan at events both within the Kingdom and abroad, thus enriching her experience with a broader cultural dimension and wider horizons.
In addition, Fatima worked with local and international organizations, participated in campaigns against violence against women, and provided professional and developmental training to empower women economically and socially, investing her extensive experience in serving the community.
Today, Fatima Al-Qudah is one of the most prominent female leaders in Ajloun, combining intellect and practice, culture and action. She believes that leadership is not a privilege but a responsibility towards society. She says with pride and conviction: “A strong woman doesn’t wait for opportunities; she creates them with her determination… and makes a lasting impact.”
Thus, her journey as a rising female leadership model is evident, combining the support of the Rural Women’s Forum, the Change Agents Programs, and her deep belief that change begins with a step, and is strengthened when women possess the tools and knowledge to be an authentic partner in decision-making.
