Nadia Al-Rabdhi – A story of female leadership and strategic partnership in the countryside
In the Ajloun Governorate, where economic and social challenges are intertwined with limited opportunities, Nadia Al-Rabdhi has emerged as a community leader and an inspiring female figure in the field of change. As president of the Ajloun Women’s Charitable Society and an active member of the Rural Women’s Forum – Equal Movement, Nadia has dedicated her work to empowering women and enhancing their economic, political, and social participation.
True empowerment starts on the ground.
For years, Nadia has worked on designing and implementing initiatives and projects targeting rural communities in the Ajloun Governorate, with the aim of creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for women. These initiatives have been distinguished by their ability to reach women and girls who previously lacked sufficient opportunities for expression or participation.
Strategic support changed the course
The collaboration with Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development marked a true turning point in Nadia’s journey and that of the association. The association received comprehensive strategic support encompassing training, mentorship, follow-up, technical and technological assistance, as well as networking opportunities with donors and supporting institutions. This integrated support was not merely technical; it accompanied the association on its journey toward institutional empowerment and sustainability.
From idea to tangible reality
Thanks to this constructive collaboration, the Ajloun Women’s Association was able to develop its infrastructure and amplify its impact. The association now has its own building, a tourist rest area, and a women’s dialogue club that provides a safe space for exchange, learning, and ongoing discussion. These achievements have helped enhance the association’s ability to market its activities and services at both the local and national levels.
Royal acknowledgment of change
The impact of this work culminated in a special visit to the association by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, a symbolic gesture recognizing the local effort and its national impact. Nadia also received a high royal honor when His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein bestowed upon her the Silver Jubilee Medal in recognition of her pioneering role and contributions to supporting her community.
A model for rural change
Today, Nadia Al-Rabdhi and the Ajloun Women’s Association stand as a living example of what women’s community leadership can achieve when given the right support and a clear vision. Nadia is proud of her partnership with the Center for Change Agents, which she considers a cornerstone of her rural success story.
