Joint statement on the agreement between the Jordanian Ministry of Labor and the Development and Employment Fund
Issued by Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, Ajloun Community Radio, and the Safe Youth Political Rural Space
Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, Ajloun Community Radio, and the Rural Youth Political Safe Space welcome the signing of the agreement between the Jordanian Ministry of Labor and the Development and Employment Fund, which aims to finance and support small home-based projects by providing easy, interest-free loans to graduates of the Vocational Training Corporation.
The statement affirms that this step represents an important national trend towards promoting a culture of entrepreneurship, empowering young people economically, and opening new horizons for them to establish their own projects, especially in light of the economic challenges facing young people in the governorates, including rural areas.
We also see that allocating funding of up to one million dinars within the 2026 funding plan, and making available soft loans of up to 3,000 dinars, constitutes a real opportunity to support youth initiatives and stimulate innovation in the fields of professional, craft and technical work, which contributes to creating sustainable job opportunities and achieving self-reliance.
The statement calls on young men and women, especially graduates of the Vocational Training Corporation, to take advantage of this unique opportunity and move towards launching their own projects, thereby enhancing their role in economic and social development.
The signatories also emphasize the importance of integrating efforts between government institutions, civil society organizations, and community media to ensure that these programs reach the target groups and maximize their impact on the ground.
📌 Recommendations:
Intensify awareness campaigns about the program and how to benefit from it in the governorates.
Provide accompanying mentorship and training programs to ensure the sustainability of projects.
Support green entrepreneurship and environmentally friendly projects within this program.
Enhance the role of community media in sharing success stories and motivating youth.
In conclusion, we emphasize the importance of partnerships with the private sector, civil society organizations, and government institutions, and express our commitment to working with all stakeholders to support pathways for empowerment and equitable participation of youth towards achieving sustainable and equitable development in Jordan.
