Radio sawt Ajloun participates in the annual ARIJ Forum to discuss the future of independent journalism
Dr. Ali Al-Momani participated as a representative of Radio sawt Ajloun in the activities of the 18th annual ARIJ Forum, which came this year under the slogan “We Challenge,” in light of a sensitive stage that independent journalism is going through as a result of the sudden cessation of funding, political pressures, and the exacerbation of social exclusion, in addition to the rapid transformations witnessed by technology and artificial intelligence and their direct impact on the media industry.
The forum provided a broad space that brought together journalists, media professionals, newsroom leaders, experts, auditors, and lawyers who support independent media work, to discuss the most prominent challenges facing the Arab media landscape, including censorship, intimidation, ongoing conflicts, and shrinking opportunities for independent institutions.
The forum included in-depth panel discussions and training workshops, as well as collaborative meetings aimed at exploring new strategies to enable media organizations to thrive in a challenging and evolving environment. Practical tools and digital technologies were also presented to help journalists keep pace with technological advancements, overcome funding obstacles, and improve their journalistic storytelling and ethical reporting.
Al-Momani stressed the importance of this forum as a platform for communication and exchange of experiences among media professionals from various countries in the region and the world, and for strengthening joint efforts to protect independent journalism and support its vital role in establishing the principles of transparency and accountability.
The presence of Dr. Ali Al-Momani, representing the Radio sawt Ajloun, came as confirmation of the radio station’s interest in developing media performance and participating in regional dialogues that discuss the future of independent journalism and ways to enhance its resilience in the face of challenges.
