Safe Rural Youth Political Space Launches a Series of Digital Political Dialogues to Enhance Democratic Participation in Rural Communities
Ajloun – As part of the activities of the Safe Rural Youth Political Space project, young leaders held a coordination meeting dedicated to discussing the mechanisms for planning and organizing a series of political dialogues via digital media, in partnership with Ajloun Community Radio Voice and in cooperation with the German Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
The project aims to organize 11 digital political dialogues in the sectors of education, labor, and investment, bringing together youth, decision-makers, political parties, activists, MPs, and senators. These dialogues employ digital media tools as a modern means of communication and influencing public opinion, enhancing youth presence in the local and national political scene.
The meeting included an extensive discussion on the importance of digital media in opening new spaces for youth to express their visions and the issues of their rural communities, as well as its role in enhancing transparency and expanding political participation to include wider social groups, contributing to the consolidation of a culture of democratic dialogue.
Youth leaders confirmed that the Safe Rural project seeks to:
ChatGPT said: Empower youth to lead political dialogues grounded in knowledge and awareness.
Enhance their presence in the political scene by combining face-to-face meetings with digital platforms.
Formulate practical recommendations that reflect the aspirations of rural communities and translate them into actionable visions within national policies.
Project coordinator Riham Al-Qudah indicated that this step represents a qualitative leap in the work of the Safe Rural Youth Political Space, enabling youth to reach a wider circle of influencers in decision-making. She added that the ultimate goal is to ensure that youth play an active role in shaping public policies and building a more just and inclusive future.
Local development expert Suhaib Ahmad Rababa explained that relying on digital media in managing political dialogues gives youth a more flexible and effective tool to influence and interact directly with the public and decision-makers, especially amid the rapid transformations witnessed in the media and political landscapes.
“This meeting represents a foundational step towards launching a series of digital dialogues aimed at reinforcing the role of youth as a proactive and participatory force in decision-making, contributing to the development of national policies that are more responsive to the needs of rural communities and enhancing the integration of their voices into the national agenda.”
