From this reality emerged the urgent need to establish the\u00a0<strong>\u201cRural Women\u2019s Forum \u2013 Equal Movement in the Countryside\u201d<\/strong>, driven by our belief that civil society\u2014especially women\u2014must act swiftly to institutionalize feminist work in rural areas and advocate for women&#8217;s rights. This includes confronting violence, discrimination, and systemic exclusion practiced against women in rural communities.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2020, the\u00a0<strong>Equal Movement<\/strong>\u00a0has taken on the mission of amplifying the voices of those who have none, fostering solidarity among rural communities, and mobilizing for change toward justice and equality. The movement seeks to place rural women\u2019s priorities on the agendas of policymakers at both local and national levels, in alignment with international standards of human rights and dignity.<\/p>\n<p>As we navigate a complex reality filled with change, crises, resistance, and conflict across the Arab region, we remain hopeful in our ability to endure, adapt, and mobilize national and international solidarity to sustain our collective feminist efforts and achievements in rural areas. Over the next three years, we aim to deepen, expand, and strengthen the feminist movement in the countryside\u2014despite the intersecting challenges facing civil society and women amid dominance, violence, fragility, conflict, and instability, which have made women more vulnerable to violations, marginalization, and injustice.<\/p>\n<p>From 2020 to 2024, we have led fearless interventions, published research, policy briefs, and analyses on the intersections of gender, justice, and equality in rural areas. We have embraced bold feminist agendas in coalition spaces\u2014especially in local feminist politics\u2014and we look forward to elevating this momentum to new heights, driven by rural feminist struggle for gender justice. Our goal is to ensure the sustainability of this movement and achieve genuine recognition of women as equal partners in development, political decision-making, party work, and local governance\u2014based on principles of justice and equality.<\/p>\n<p>We are committed to sustaining solidarity and collaboration with partners and donors to fund our interventions aimed at reducing violence, discrimination, and exclusion against women in rural and marginalized areas. It obtained official license number 200154820. The center emerged from a local youth initiative that believed that true development begins at the grassroots level, and that youth are not merely recipients of policies, but rather their makers and active partners in formulating and implementing them.<\/p>\n<p>The center operates at the local and national levels through a wide range of programs and projects aimed at promoting sustainable development, empowering youth and women, supporting education, protecting the environment, and promoting a culture of human rights. The center&#8217;s philosophy is based on integrating field work, advocacy, and influencing public policy, based on the principles of transparency, governance, social justice, and community participation.<\/p>\n<p>The Center for Change Agents for Sustainable Development is an active member of the Youth, Peace, and Security 2250 Coalition, contributing through this membership to national efforts aimed at enhancing youth participation in peacebuilding processes and maintaining community security. The Center, in cooperation with its coalition partners, implements programs and initiatives aimed at consolidating a culture of dialogue, preventing conflict, and enhancing social cohesion. The Center also seeks to integrate youth perspectives into public policies related to peace and security, based on its belief in the importance of their role as essential partners in achieving sustainable development and social stability.<\/p>\n<p>The Center&#8217;s work is aligned with Security Council Resolution 1325<\/p>\n<p>The Center believes that sustainable peace cannot be achieved without the participation of women in decision-making, and that gender justice and equality are fundamental pillars of any development process.<\/p>\n<p>Since the adoption of the resolution, the Center for Change Mediators for Sustainable Development has sought to align its vision and programs with the resolution&#8217;s four main axes: participation, protection, prevention, relief, and reconstruction.
