On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, a specialized training session on hydroponic farming using virtual reality (VR) technology was conducted as part of the activities of the second day of the Field School for Modern and Sustainable Agricultural Technologies. The training aimed to introduce participants to the latest agricultural methods and technologies and enhance their ability to utilize technology in developing sustainable agricultural practices.<\/p>\n\n

The Field School is implemented by the Change Agents Center for Sustainable Development and Sawt Ajloun Community Radio, in cooperation with the Ajloun Governorate Directorate of Agriculture. It aims to equip youth and participants with practical knowledge and skills in modern and sustainable agricultural technologies, while promoting their interest in smart agriculture and agricultural innovation<\/p>\n\n

The training covered the concept of hydroponics, its principles and importance, and its role in rationalizing water use and raising the efficiency of agricultural resources, in addition to introducing the most prominent components and systems of hydroponics and how they work, and the modern technologies used in it, as well as reviewing the types of crops that can be produced through this agricultural method.<\/p>\n\n

The training also focused on the role of technology and innovation in advancing the agricultural sector by utilizing virtual reality (VR) technology to provide an interactive experience simulating a hydroponic farming environment and its various stages. This gave participants a practical and interactive opportunity to learn how modern technologies can be applied in the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n\n

The interactive experience contributed to enhancing the practical understanding of the participants, and provided an opportunity to learn how to employ technology in developing agricultural production, in addition to exploring solutions and technologies that can contribute to raising the efficiency of water use and available resources.<\/p>\n\n

The training emphasized the importance of hydroponics as one of the modern agricultural methods that can contribute to reducing water consumption, improving production efficiency, and making use of available spaces, which makes it one of the options that can be utilized in light of the challenges of water scarcity and the effects of climate change.<\/p>\n\n

The training is in line with the Field School\u2019s objectives of supporting the concept of smart and sustainable agriculture, equipping young people and participants with practical skills and knowledge in the use of modern agricultural technologies, and encouraging them to innovate and develop more efficient and sustainable agricultural ideas and projects.<\/p>\n\n

The training reflects the Field School\u2019s orientation towards strengthening the link between technology, agriculture and sustainability, and emphasizing that the development of the agricultural sector does not depend solely on traditional methods, but requires taking advantage of innovation and modern technologies, including hydroponics and virtual reality, to meet the challenges of water and climate, improve production efficiency and enhance the sustainability of agricultural resources.<\/p>\n\n
