Ajloun – The Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, in partnership with Ajloun Voice Community Radio and in cooperation with members of the “Safe Rural Youth Space,” is organizing a national dialogue meeting in Ajloun Governorate. The event will bring together a group of young leaders with distinguished members of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor, Social Development, and Population in the Jordanian House of Representatives, alongside current and former MPs from Ajloun Governorate, as well as a number of local community activists and stakeholders. The meeting is held within the framework of strengthening youth empowerment and capacity building, addressing the skills gap, and expanding opportunities for young people in the labor market and entrepreneurship.
This meeting comes within a national context that requires strengthening the alignment of public policies with the rapidly evolving economic and social transformations, amid challenges related to limited sustainable employment opportunities, weak alignment between education outputs and labor market needs, and rising unemployment rates among youth and women, particularly in governorates and rural areas.
The meeting will discuss a number of strategic themes related to the labor market landscape and national employment-support policies. These include analyzing current employment and labor policies, examining structural gaps in the labor market, and strengthening the alignment of education and technical and vocational training with market needs. It will also address supporting employment policies targeted at the most marginalized groups, and developing an enabling legislative environment for entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises as a key driver of economic growth and job creation.
The meeting aims to strengthen institutional dialogue between youth and the legislative authority, and to move from general discussion to the level of policy analysis and the formulation of practical, implementable solutions. This is intended to enhance the quality of the national response to employment challenges and promote a participatory governance approach by integrating youth voices and field experiences into the decision-making process.
The meeting also seeks to produce a set of actionable strategic recommendations and work toward their adoption and discussion under the dome of Parliament during the current session, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of public policies in the field of labor and employment and increasing their developmental impact at the national level.
The meeting will be attended by distinguished members of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor, Social Development, and Population in the Jordanian House of Representatives, as well as current and former Members of Parliament representing Ajloun Governorate.
Members of the “Safe Rural Youth Space” team will also participate, along with a number of active youth and local community stakeholders, in a step aimed at strengthening the national dialogue on employment and economic development issues and youth empowerment in the governorates, and building effective partnerships that contribute to developing more responsive solutions and policies that meet the needs of youth and local communities.
📌 It is worth noting that the “Safe Rural Youth Space” project is implemented by the Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development in partnership with Ajloun Voice Community Radio and in cooperation with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
