In light of the economic and social challenges facing youth in local communities, and based on the vision of the Change Agents Center for Sustainable Development in empowering individuals and building their capacities, “Entrepreneur Space” was established as one of the pioneering initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering youth, women, and entrepreneurs at various stages of their projects.

This space serves as an incubator platform for ideas and startups, providing a stimulating environment for learning, innovation, collaboration, and exchanging experiences among ambitious young people. It also offers participants access to educational resources, specialized training, technical and managerial consultations, and local and regional support networks that contribute to transforming ideas into sustainable projects with social and economic impact.

The importance of “Entrepreneur Space” lies in promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and self-employment, nurturing creative talents—especially in marginalized areas—in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to quality education, decent work, and reducing inequalities.

The park offers specialized training workshops on how to recycle household and plastic materials, transform waste into usable products, as well as courses in sustainable agriculture, eco-garden design, and organic fertilizer production. Additionally, the space provides participants with opportunities to develop innovative, eco-friendly projects that serve their communities and offer local solutions to environmental challenges.

Through the “Green Recycling Park,” the Change Agents Center for Sustainable Development strives to create a conscious and proactive generation capable of positively engaging with environmental issues and actively contributing to building a cleaner, fairer, and more sustainable future in rural Jordan.

“Masarat Space” is one of the sustainable initiatives at the Change Agents Center for Sustainable Development, aiming to promote eco-tourism and community-based tourism in Ajloun Governorate as a key driver for economic recovery and comprehensive development. The space focuses on leveraging Ajloun’s rich natural and cultural resources—such as forests, nature reserves, and historical sites—and works to empower local residents, especially women and youth, to actively engage in tourism value chains by supporting community initiatives and providing fair and sustainable job opportunities.

The space seeks to highlight the governorate’s distinctive tourist destinations while fostering a culture of domestic tourism through organizing regular field trips to natural and heritage sites, linked with educational, awareness, and community activities. It also promotes Ajloun’s tourism identity by showcasing signature projects like the “Ajloun Cable Car,” and encourages entrepreneurial spirit and leadership in the eco-tourism and responsible tourism sectors. This contributes to building a green local economy that strengthens resilience and enshrines the principle of “leaving no one behind.”

“Masarat” keeps pace with modern digital transformations by producing diverse, interactive digital content broadcasted through media and community platforms to introduce visitors and investors to the tourist sites and available opportunities. This content includes introductory videos, visual reports, and digital promotional campaigns aimed at conveying the true beauty, culture, and natural resources of Ajloun. These efforts help stimulate sustainable tourism, raise environmental awareness, and enhance community participation in protecting the governorate’s natural and touristic heritage.

Within the framework of a shared vision to empower youth and build their capacities in the fields of media and sustainable development, both the Change Agents Center for Sustainable Development and Sawt Ajloun Community Radio have launched a series of fellowship and training programs targeting youth, community activists, and media enthusiasts. The goal is to enhance their active participation in their communities’ issues and equip them with tools for influence and change.

These programs stem from the importance of investing in local youth energy and strengthening their roles in community media and social change-making. The primary objectives of the programs focus on:

  • Empowering trainees with practical skills in radio media, community project planning, and local leadership.

  • Transferring the accumulated knowledge and experience gained by the center and the radio station through years of community work.

  • Promoting values of active citizenship, participation, dialogue, transparency, and accountability.

  • Graduating qualified young cadres who can effectively contribute to local community development and work in media and development institutions.

The fellowship and training programs offered by Sawt Ajloun Radio and the Change Agents Center represent a vital model for youth capacity building in media and development. They emphasize the importance of investing in human capital as a first step toward a more aware, engaged, and just society.

Work continues to expand and develop these programs to include more participants and open doors for creativity and impact at local and national levels.

“Modern Agriculture Technologies Space” is one of the specialized spaces at the Change Agents Center for Sustainable Development. It aims to promote sustainable and smart agricultural practices in rural communities, especially in light of climate change and the economic pressures faced by farmers. The space seeks to transfer knowledge and skills related to modern agriculture to farmers, youth, and women by providing a learning and experimental environment that enhances productivity and reduces the depletion of natural resources.

The space offers advanced training programs in areas such as hydroponics, vertical farming, smart drip irrigation systems, agricultural waste recycling, and crop management using remote sensing and artificial intelligence technologies. It also supports small community agricultural initiatives and provides participants with opportunities for hands-on learning and the implementation of sustainable agricultural models applicable to their local environments.

“Modern Agriculture Technologies Space” aims to build new environmental and agricultural awareness based on innovation and efficient resource use, contributing to enhancing local food security, generating additional income for farmers and their families, and creating green jobs for youth. Additionally, this space serves as a platform for networking among farmers, experts, and innovators in the agricultural field, strengthening the capacity of rural communities to adapt to climate change and achieve sustainable agricultural development.

At the Change Agents Center for Sustainable Development, we work to protect natural resources and promote their sound management through community initiatives and partnerships that reinforce the principles of the green and blue economy. We also encourage the transition toward responsible consumption and renewable energy.

The water crisis is one of our top priorities, especially given the water stress affecting millions in our region. Therefore, we focus on raising awareness, developing local solutions for water management, and empowering communities to play an active role in conserving this vital resource.

Priorities

  • Enhancing integrated water resources management.

  • Protecting biodiversity and ecological communities.

  • Reducing pollution, especially in rural and marginalized areas.

  • Promoting the culture of circular economy and sustainability among youth and women.

Jordan is considered one of the poorest countries in the world in terms of water resources, suffering from a chronic deficit due to low rainfall, climate change, and rapid population growth. The annual per capita water share in Jordan is estimated at less than 100 cubic meters, which is significantly below the global water poverty line of 500 cubic meters.

At the Change Agents Center, we work to raise awareness about the wise use of water and implement innovative community initiatives focused on reuse, water harvesting, and environmental education, with youth and women actively involved as key drivers of change.
