At the Change Mediators Center for Sustainable Development, we work to protect natural resources and promote their sound management through community initiatives and partnerships that uphold the principles of the green and blue economy. We encourage the shift toward responsible consumption and renewable energy.
The water crisis is one of our top priorities, especially as millions of people in our region suffer from water stress. Therefore, we focus on raising awareness, developing local water management solutions, and empowering communities to play an active role in preserving this vital resource.
1. Enhancing integrated water resources management
2. Protecting biodiversity and ecological communities
3. Reducing pollution, especially in rural and marginalized areas
4. Promoting a culture of circular economy and sustainability among youth and women
Jordan is one of the most water-scarce countries in the world, suffering from a chronic shortage of water resources due to low rainfall, climate change, and rapid population growth. The annual per capita share of water in Jordan is estimated at less than 100 cubic meters, which is significantly below the global water poverty line of 500 cubic meters.
At the Change Mediators Center, we work to raise awareness about the responsible use of water and implement innovative community initiatives focused on reuse, rainwater harvesting, and environmental education. We actively engage youth and women as key drivers of change.
