📚 Conclusion of a Specialized Training to Empower Young Leaders from Ajloun’s Rural Areas in Drafting Public Policy Papers
📍 Ajloun – The Center for Change Mediators for Sustainable Development, in partnership with Sawt Ajloun Radio and in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (Germany), concluded the activities of a specialized training program implemented under the “Rural Youth Civic Space” project, as part of the initiative’s second-year program
📘 The training targeted 20 young men and women from the rural areas of Ajloun Governorate, focusing on drafting public policy papers, as well as developing effective communication and advocacy skills with parliamentary committees—particularly on issues related to education and employment in the governorate.
This initiative reflects a strategic investment in youth leadership and policy engagement at the grassroots level.
📘 Public policy expert Mohammad Bani Mustafa explained that the training covered key areas, including:
Defining the concept and levels of public policy
How to gather and analyze evidence and data
Formulating recommendations and arguments
Structuring a public policy paper
Analyzing alternatives and proposing solutions
Editing and effectively publishing policy papers
These components formed the backbone of the training, equipping participants with practical tools to influence policymaking processes at various levels
🧠 The training also included in-depth discussions on the key challenges facing the education and employment sectors in Ajloun, along with a set of proposed solutions.
📣 Project Director Ahmad Al-Rabab’ah emphasized that “Rural Space” aims to enhance the active participation of rural youth in decision-making, by equipping them with the necessary skills to lead political dialogues, organize interactive workshops with official institutions, and engage directly with members of parliament to ensure their issues are reflected in national and local policie
🌿 Al-Rabab’ah affirmed that the Center for Change Mediators is committed to providing a supportive environment and resources to empower rural youth, opening the door for them to become genuine partners in shaping more just and inclusive development policies.
📅 The training was conducted over four days, from Monday, May 12 to Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Center for Change Mediators for Sustainable Development hall in Ajloun Governorate.
🌾 This training is one of the key activities of the “Rural Space” project, implemented through a strategic partnership between the Center for Change Mediators and Sawt Ajloun Radio, in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (Germany).
