Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable DevelopmentAgents participates in the regional workshop on climate, women, peace and security and announces its joining the “UfM Climate and WPS Network”.

Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development Agents for Development, represented by its Executive Director, Suhaib Ahmad Rababa’a, participated in the regional workshop and stakeholder dialogue on climate, women, peace, and security, organized by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) in partnership with the Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW). The workshop brought together more than 80 participants from governments, UN agencies, civil society organizations, academia, and regional institutions.

The participation of Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development Agents came within the framework of its efforts to enhance its regional role in supporting climate adaptation and empowering women and youth, and to benefit from the exchange of experiences and enhance cooperation with regional and international institutions.

Launch of the UfM Climate and WPS Network regional network

The event witnessed the official launch of the regional UfM Climate and WPS Network, which aims to:

• Strengthening regional cooperation on issues of climate, women, peace and security.
• Building institutional capacity,
• Supporting women’s leadership in addressing climate and security challenges,
• Bridging knowledge and data gaps by linking climate, gender, and security policies.

Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development Agents has officially joined the network, a move that reflects its standing and development as a regional player in the areas of climate adaptation and women’s and youth empowerment. This membership will contribute to strengthening opportunities for collaboration and developing joint initiatives within the regional network’s priorities.

Interventions and participation of Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development

The center’s executive director, Suhaib Ahmad Rababa’a, made interventions focusing on:

• The importance of involving young people and women from rural communities in climate adaptation efforts,
• The need to integrate climate and gender considerations into local policies.
• Engaging and activating the role of local organizations and civil society in promoting peace and climate stability.

The workshop concluded with the adoption of the Climate, Women, Peace and Security Network Roadmap 2026, which sets out the priorities for regional action and the mechanisms for follow-up and cooperation among network members.
