Training on the Rights-Based Approach to Addressing the Issues of Persons with Disabilities
The Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, in partnership with the Human Rights Center, is launching a specialized training titled “The Rights-Based Approach to Addressing the Issues of Persons with Disabilities,” on Sunday, September 12, 2026.
The training aims to enhance knowledge and rights-based practices in addressing issues concerning persons with disabilities, while highlighting the importance of adopting a human rights-based approach, away from stereotypes and narratives that may perpetuate discrimination or exclusion.
The training targets a range of active community groups, including civil society organizations, digital and radio content producers, youth activists, initiative leaders, and professionals working in the fields of human rights, development, and digital media.
The training aims to strengthen participants’ capacities to address issues concerning persons with disabilities from a rights-based perspective, and to develop a more inclusive media and community discourse that respects human rights and dignity. It also seeks to enhance the role of stakeholders in supporting the participation and social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
The Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, in partnership with the Human Rights Center, emphasizes the importance of investing in building the capacities of workers, activists, and media professionals, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable environment and ensuring that issues concerning persons with disabilities are addressed responsibly and effectively in human rights, media, and development discourse.
