Youth-Led Parliamentary Advocacy to Strengthen Rural Employment and Develop Local Skills and Economic Opportunities
Amman – As part of the ongoing activities of the “Reef Space Project,” youth leaders and project team members are meeting with the Labor Committee of the Jordanian House of Representatives to follow up on the recommendations and proposals raised by young people during previous dialogue sessions, and to discuss challenges related to employment and job opportunities in rural communities.
The meeting comes as part of the project’s approach to moving from identifying challenges and demands to follow-up, advocacy, and direct engagement with relevant stakeholders, while exploring possible ways to respond to youth priorities in employment and labor, including developing youth skills, enhancing local economic opportunities, and supporting employment in rural communities.
The meeting aims to provide a space for direct dialogue between young people and relevant parliamentary stakeholders, follow up on the recommendations raised during previous meetings, and strengthen the role of youth in raising issues affecting their communities and participating in discussions on related policies.
