“The ‘Rural Youth Space’ Project”

A safe political space for youth was launched in 2024, stemming from our deep belief that rural youth are not marginalized in decision-making, but rather active partners in shaping and formulating public policies at both the national and local levels. These young people possess a sophisticated awareness of the issues facing their communities and deserve a free and safe space that listens to their opinions and strengthens their presence in positions of influence.

This space brings together a select group of young leaders and activists from the rural areas of Ajloun Governorate, all of whom possess a genuine passion for change and public service. It is a platform that fosters rural political participation, providing tools for knowledge, training, and dialogue, empowering young voices to become active participants rather than passive recipients of information, and solidifying their role as true leaders for a more just and effective future.

The Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development , through the “Safe Rural Youth Political Space,” is committed to supporting and providing all the necessary capabilities to empower young people in rural communities to participate and open doors for them to actively participate in shaping public policies and building a more just and inclusive future.

“· Building the capacities of young men and women in rural areas through specialized training programs.”

“· Enhancing the political and civic participation of youth in decision-making.”

“· Supporting political reforms at the national level.”

Project activities:

“· Organizing training workshops under the title ‘Young Leaders Academy,’ where participants are trained in skills such as political communication, speech building, and dialogue management.”

“· Holding dialogue sessions with representatives of political parties and decision-makers.”

“· Raising awareness about party and electoral laws and party diversity.”

Project results:

“· Empowering youth to actively participate in political life.”

“· Promoting local development by involving rural communities in decision-making.”

“· Supporting the rights of youth to be represented in leadership positions.”

“This project is considered an important step toward achieving equitable civic participation and participatory democratic governance in Jordan.”
