Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, in partnership with Radio Ajloun Community and in cooperation with Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, organized a participatory youth dialogue meeting that brought together youth leaders and members of the “Rural Youth Safe Political Space” with Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson, in the presence of the center’s management and the radio team.

The meeting came as part of the efforts of Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development to open direct channels of dialogue between youth and decision-makers, and to discuss ways of empowering young people and enhancing their role in public life and policymaking, particularly in rural communities.

During the meeting, Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani emphasized that youth represent a fundamental pillar in the political modernization process and in shaping the future, noting that they receive direct attention from His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.

He pointed out that the government is keen to sustain dialogue with young people and listen to their priorities, in a way that helps translate them into policies that are closer to reality and societal needs. He explained that the accelerating media and digital transformations present new challenges, requiring the empowerment of youth with critical awareness tools and strengthening their ability to engage responsibly with digital content, stressing that they are the first line of defense against misinformation, rumors, and hate speech.

Dr. Al-Momani also commended the role played by Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development and its qualitative initiatives, particularly Voice of Ajloun Community Radio, in supporting community media and enhancing the role of local media in serving society.

From his part, the Executive Director of Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, Sohaib Ahmed Al-Rababah, noted that “Rural Space” represents an effective model of youth platforms that enable young people to express their needs and present practical solutions. He stressed the importance of involving youth in public policymaking and in setting development priorities, as well as strengthening their presence in local decision-making positions, including municipal and decentralization councils.

Al-Rababah added that the center works to link training outcomes with labor market needs, particularly in promising sectors such as technology, the digital economy, and entrepreneurial projects, thereby enhancing youth readiness and increasing their economic integration opportunities.

He affirmed that achieving fair development in Ajloun must align with the real priorities and needs of young people, especially in light of the developmental and service-related challenges facing the governorate. Despite these challenges, he emphasized that the determination, resilience, and ability of youth to advocate for their rights and demands constitute a key factor in driving the required change.

He also pointed out that local media, particularly Voice of Ajloun Community Radio, serves as an effective tool in raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and building community support for “Rural Space,” contributing to the consolidation of social and developmental justice in rural communities.

The Project Manager, Ahmed Abdulkader Al-Rababah, affirmed that this meeting represents an important milestone in empowering rural youth, by directly engaging them in national dialogues and opening effective communication channels with government institutions. This contributes to the development of more responsive programs that address their needs in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, and digital media.

The participants also stressed the importance of establishing business incubators and accelerators in rural areas, providing funding and technical guidance, and connecting youth with local and national markets. This would enhance the chances of success for their projects and contribute to creating innovative and sustainable job opportunities.

It is worth noting that the “Rural Youth Safe Political Space” operates under the umbrella of Intermediaries of Change Center for Sustainable Development, in partnership with Voice of Ajloun Community Radio and in cooperation with Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. It aims to enhance youth civic and developmental participation in rural communities.
